Candied Rose Petals (Eggless)

Just like the eggless one we need just 3 ingredients to make them.Rest of the procedure and instructions remain the same.We use the white of the egg (no yolks please) and powdered sugar.Use vanilla sugar for better results. You can get vanilla sugar in the market or make it yourself by keeping 3 – 4 Vanilla pods in a small jar of caster sugar.

Preparation Time : 1 hour

Makes : 1 cup Candied Rose Petals

INGREDIENTS

2 cups fresh and organic Rose Petals

1 egg white (lightly beaten)

1/2 cup powdered sugar/vanilla sugar

METHOD

Put the petals on a kitchen towel and pat dry to remove any traces of moisture.

Using a silicon brush, coat each petal with the egg white.

Then hold it over the bowl of powdered sugar and pour it with a spoon over the petal so that the sugar sticks to the painted egg white on the petal.

Keep on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and leave to dry for 24 – 30 hours in a dry place. The rose petals would become crisp and dry and can be easily used in any recipe.

Store in an airtight container and use as required.

Shot using dim light….beautiful aren’t they
