Creamy Sevian Kheer/Semiya Payasam (Vermicelli Pudding) with Condensed Milk

To celebrate this blog’s 100th post I thought I would include my favorites – Sevian Kheer or Semiya Payasam.A wonderful dessert to satisfy the senses.This pudding is made in 20 minutes and is absolutely delicious and easy

Preparation Time – 20 minutes

Makes – 3-4 servings

INGREDIENTS

100 gms vermicelli pasta – roasted preferred

1/2 liter milk

1 cup water

Sugar as required

1/2 tin Condensed Milk

1 tsp Cardamom Powder

2 tsp Ghee

2 tsp dry fruits – nuts,raisins as per wish.

METHOD

If the vermicelli is roasted use  it else take normal vermicelli and roast it over low heat till rosy and well roasted.Keep aside to cool.

After roasting and cooling the vermicelli,add water and boil till the vermicelli cooks – approx 10 minutes.Add the milk here and cook on very low heat till the vermicelli blends well with the milk.Here the milk may be absorbed a little.Add the sugar here.

Fry the nuts in 2 tsp ghee and pour on the Kheer.

Take it off heat and let it cool a bit.Then add the Condensed milk stirring constantly.

Serve warm or cold.
