Ever tried a Kheer with Apples?Believe me its so yummilicious that you will want to have it over and over again!Its cool,fruity and refreshing and can be had for lunch on hot summer afternoons.It actually cools the body and revitalizes you giving you abundant energy to restart work.Lets see the recipe..
Preparation Time – 30 -45 minutes
Makes – 3-4 Servings
INGREDIENTS
2 Apples preferably Washington or Red Delicious
1 liter milk
1 tsp Cardamom Powder(optional)
3-4 tbsp sugar(or to taste) – Use Sweeteners if desired
METHOD
Heat milk on low heat in a non stick pan till it reduces to approx half the volume.Keep stirring continuously.
Peel,core and grate the Apples and add them to the milk immediately.Always prepare the Apples just before you add them to the milk else they will oxidize and turn brown.
Cook till the milk thickens further and the Apples lend their flavor to the milk.Add sugar and mix well.
Take off heat and add Cardamom Powder if using.
Let it come to room temperature and refrigerate.Let the Apple turn out all its flavors into the milk while refrigerated!Serve Chilled.
NOTE – You can add dry fruits fried in a tsp of ghee.I have omitted this as well as Cardamom Powder as I want only the flavor of Apples.
