Besan Ka Cheela is a typical Northern India Pancake which is one of the popular breakfast dishes.Very simple and tasty this Pancake is served with any Chutney or Pickle.I serve this with Green Chili Pickle which is too tempting to resist!
Preparation Time – 20 minutes
Makes – 6-7 Cheela
INGREDIENTS
2 cups Garbanzo Bean Flour(Besan)
1 1/2 tsp Salt
1 Onion – sliced
2 Green Chilies – Finely minced(optional)
Oil to pan fry
1 tsp Turmeric Powder(Haldi)
1 tsp Coriander powder(Dhania)
1/2 tsp Red Chili Powder
Water to mix
METHOD
Take the Garbanzo Bean Flour in a bowl.Add sufficient water to make a batter of Dosa consistency.Beat well and add sliced onion and minced Green Chilies.Add salt and spices and mix well.
Heat oil in a tava(griddle) on medium heat and spread a ladleful of batter.Spread over to the sides of the griddle if possible.Add a tsp of oil and cook one side.Now flip it over and cook the other side as well.
Serve hot with any pickle or Chutney of your choice!
