What are Pakoras?
Pakoras are Indian Fritters which are deep fried.Pieces of vegetable,meat or cheese are used and are first dipped in a batter of gram flour/garbanzo bean flour and deep fried in hot oil.
Pakoras can be made with assorted vegetables like:
1.Potato
2.Onion(sliced into rings) – Another version compared to the one posted earlier
3.Brinjal
4.Raw Banana
5.Raw Jackfruit
6.Lauki/Doodhi/Bottle Gourd
7.Bread – single and stuffed with potatoes.
8.Spinach/Palak
9.Paneer/Tofu
10.Ripe Bananas
11.Cauliflower
12.Green Chilies – stuffed with tamarind or potatoes,dipped in Gram Flour and deep fried to a golden crispness
13.Minced meat or pieces of all kinds of meat or fish.

INGREDIENTS
1 cup garbanzo bean flour
Salt to taste
1 tsp red chili powder
Water to blend the ingredients
Oil to fry
METHOD
Blend the flour with red chili powder and add water.Whisk to make a smooth pouring batter.Cut the veggies on hand into fine thin slices.Heat oil.Dip the veggies into the batter and deep fry on medium heat till golden brown and crisp.Serve hot with sauce or chutney.
