I have already posted Dhaba style Mutter Paneer,but this is great tasting and different in a gravy which includes Cashewnuts which is lipsmacking and drool worthy.This recipe is a hit with everyone who comes for a meal at our place.Check the recipe here:
Preparation Time – 1 hour
Makes – 4 servings
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup ghee/oil
2 onions – chopped fine
2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
Salt to taste
3 tomatoes – pureed or 1 cup Tomato Puree
1 1/2 cups Green Peas – shelled or frozen peas
1/2 cup water
A few strands Saffron
2 tsp flour mixed with milk
1 cup milk
200 gms cashewnuts soaked in milk
250 gms Paneer – cut into cubes or batons
50 gms Almonds soaked in milk and sliced
3 green chilies slit lengthwise
8-10 raisins
I bunch Coriander leaves – chopped
METHOD
Heat ghee or Oil and fry the onions till golden.Add ginger-garlic paste,Garam Masala and salt to taste.Fry well.Add Tomato Puree and keep stirring on low heat for 5 minutes.Add green peas and 1/2 cup water.
Cover and cook till the peas are done.Dissolve saffron and flour in 1 cup milk to a smooth paste.
Grind cashewnusts in a little milk and add to the above mixtureAdd the milk mix to the pea-tomato puree in the pan and keep stirring constantly till the gravy thickens.
Add paneer slices and cover the pan and simmer on low heat for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat,garnish with Almond flakes,green chilies,raisins and coriander leaves.
Serve hot with rice or roti.
