Tomato-Raisin-Apple Chutney

Starting the New Year on a sweet-spicy note is this fruity Chutney which will surely win you many complements!Earlier I had posted a recipe of tomato and raisin chutney but this is different combined with apple.Check out the recipe here:

Preparation Time – 1 hour

Makes – 300 gms of Chutney

INGREDIENTS

3 cups Tomatoes -finely chopped

1/2 cup raisins

2 apples – peeled,cored and chopped

3 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 1/2 cups sugar

2 tsp salt

2 tsp Cinnamon Powder(dalchini)

2-3 whole Star Anise

2 tsp Chili Powder

METHOD

Put the Tomatoes,in a pan and add all spice powders,lemon juice,salt,sugar,Balsamic Vinegar and Star Anise.Put on low heat and allow to come to a boil.Add the raisins and boil for 10-15 minutes more.Now add the chopped apple and continue to boil till the Chutney is thick and a little sticky.

Cooking the Chutney..

Take off heat and allow to cool.When it comes to room temperature,fill in clean jars.
