Falooda Noodles or Falooda Sev are yummy cornflour noodles which are light and take on any flavour.Mixed with thickened milk they are uber delicious and melt in the mouth. They are very easy to make and conveniently stored in the refrigerator. So here goes one of the easiest recipes on this blog!
Things you require :
- A non stick pan
- A sev press with small holes.I have used a thicker one here and my Sev came out a bit thick but its all the same!
- A pan with chilled water and a few ice cubes
- A strainer to handle the delicate sev.
- Colour as required – I used saffron yellow but you can use Orange or Pink.
Preparation Time : 15 minutes
Makes : 2 cups of Falooda Sev
INGREDIENTS
1 cup/100 gms cornflour
1 1/2 cups plus 1 tbsp water
Yellow colour or as per choice
METHOD
Mix cornflour, water and colour in a pan and whisk well till there are no lumps. Now pour into the non stick pan.
Keep the sev press and a bowl of chilled water and ice cubes ready at hand.
On medium heat let the liquid come to a boil and it will thicken almost instantly into a gelatinous mass.Immediately force it through the Sev Press into the pan of chilled water and ice cubes.Refrigerate and use as needed.
Use a tea strainer while taking the Falooda Sev out from the chilled water!
